Fnac Qatar, renowned as a hub for culture, leisure, and technology, proudly declares its participation in the 33rd edition of the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), occurring from May 9 to May 18, 2024, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. Nestled within the pavilion of the Embassy of France and the French Institute of Qatar (IFQ), Fnac Qatar reaffirms its dedication to fostering cultural exchange and advancing literacy within the community. Since 2014, Fnac Qatar has played a vital role in the DIBF, embodying its mission of “Culture for All,” and this year, it continues this tradition with a series of engaging activities.

At the heart of Fnac Qatar’s involvement lies its commitment to educational initiatives. This year’s participation includes hosting workshops for students from prominent French-speaking schools in Qatar, led by renowned French children’s author Sophie Adriansen. These workshops aim to ignite creativity and language development among participants. Moreover, daily storytelling sessions for children aged 3-6, conducted by captivating storytellers Annie Benoit and Marion Bellion, promise enchanting experiences, followed by hands-on creative workshops inspired by the narratives shared.

In addition to these interactive engagements, Fnac Qatar enriches the fair’s program by hosting esteemed partners such as Éditions Faton for discussion panels and Dr. Serge Tillman, Director General of Lycée Franco-Qatarien Voltaire, for a book signing ceremony. Mr. Bader Al-Darwish, Chairman and Managing Director of Fifty One East, expresses pride in Fnac Qatar’s continual participation, emphasizing its role in enhancing Qatar’s cultural landscape. H.E. Mr. Jean-Baptiste Faivre, the Ambassador of France to the State of Qatar, extends gratitude to Fnac Qatar for its partnership, acknowledging its contribution to cultural dialogue and bilateral ties between Qatar and France.
