Unified GCC Visa: Qatar Chairs 5th Meeting of Technical Team for Project

In a significant step toward enhancing regional cooperation, the State of Qatar recently chaired the fifth meeting of the Technical Team for the Unified GCC Visa Project. The meeting took place at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General-Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.


The Unified GCC Visa Project aims to streamline visa processes across the Gulf Cooperation Council member states. By harmonizing visa regulations and procedures, the project seeks to facilitate travel and promote economic ties within the region. The meeting was led by Lt. Col. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani, representing the State of Qatar’s Border Passports Department. Lt. Col. Al-Thani’s expertise in border management and security contributed to productive discussions during the session.


Additionally, Lt. Col. Jassem Khalid Al Hamr, Assistant Director General of Communications and Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior, chaired the meeting. His leadership ensured that the agenda items were thoroughly addressed.
