Doha, Qatar – In a heartbreaking incident, Dr. Majid Sulaiman Al-Shannour Al-Nouami, a pediatric specialist in the obstetrics and gynecology department at Hamad General Hospital, has tragically passed away after drowning at Sealine Beach on Monday. This tragic event occurred amidst the extreme weather conditions currently affecting the country.

The Syrian Medical Association in Qatar (SMAQ) confirmed the details of the incident on their Facebook page, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their esteemed colleague.

The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) had issued continuous warnings of thundery rain and strong winds exceeding 50 knots across the nation, with a chance of hail. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) had also urged the public to cancel all sea and coastal area activities in light of the severe weather.

Despite the precautions, the harsh weather conditions proved to be too dangerous, leading to the tragic drowning of Dr. Al-Shannour at Sealine Beach on Monday. The country is in a state of mourning over the loss of this respected pediatric specialist.
