Doha, Qatar – In an effort to ensure the safety and security of its citizens and residents, the government of Qatar has announced that all employees in the country will work remotely on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. This decision applies to workers in all ministries, government agencies, schools, public bodies, and other institutions.

The only exceptions are for employees in the military, security, and health sectors, as well as those whose jobs require them to be physically present at their workplaces.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has urged the public to stay informed by relying on official and reputable sources, as well as to follow any safety and security instructions issued by the authorities.

Separately, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has confirmed that all schools in the country will conduct remote learning for students on Tuesday, April 16.

The decision to implement remote work and remote schooling comes as Qatar braces for challenging weather conditions expected in the coming hours. While the specific details of the impending weather have not been disclosed, the government appears to be taking a proactive approach to protect the population.

Citizens and residents are advised to monitor official communications channels for any further updates or instructions regarding the situation. The authorities have emphasized the importance of heeding their guidance to ensure the well-being of the entire community during this period.
