Six Qatari Visionary Leaders Shine on Forbes’ Top 100 CEOs 2023 List

Qatar has made an indelible mark on the regional business landscape as six of its distinguished leaders secured coveted spots on the ‘Top 100 CEOs 2023’ list in the Middle East, as unveiled by Forbes magazine. This recognition underscores not only the individual achievements of these Qatari leaders but also highlights the emirate’s growing influence in shaping the trajectory of businesses in the region.

Topping the Qatari representation on the list is the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, H E Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, securing an impressive fourth place. His strategic leadership has not only propelled QatarEnergy to new heights but has also significantly contributed to Qatar’s prominent standing in the global energy sector.

Nasser Abdulla Mubarak Al Khalifa, the CEO of QNB Group, one of the region’s largest financial institutions, has been recognized as the 11th most influential CEO in the Middle East. Al Khalifa’s leadership has played a pivotal role in steering QNB Group’s success, contributing to the stability and growth of Qatar’s financial sector.

Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, the CEO and Managing Director of Ooredoo Group, is ranked 35th on the prestigious list. Under his guidance, Ooredoo Group has been at the forefront of technological innovation, shaping the telecommunications landscape not only in Qatar but across the Middle East.

Bassel Gamal, CEO of Qatar Islamic Bank, secured the 58th position, a testament to his adept leadership in the Islamic banking sector. His strategic vision has contributed to Qatar Islamic Bank’s resilience and prominence in the financial industry.

Abdullah Al Sulaiti, CEO of Nakilat, stands at 81, reflecting his impactful leadership in the maritime and gas shipping sector. Nakilat’s global standing owes much to Al Sulaiti’s strategic insights and operational excellence.

Tarek El Sayed, CEO and Managing Director of Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC), is ranked 83rd. His leadership has been instrumental in driving ARTIC’s success in the hospitality and tourism sector, contributing to Qatar’s position as a global tourism hub.
