In a prestigious ceremony held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Frankfurt on April 17, 2024, Doha’s Hamad International Airport was crowned the World’s Best Airport for 2024 in the renowned World Airport Awards. This marks the third time the airport has earned this top global honor.

Hamad International Airport also secured two additional accolades – the World’s Best Airport Shopping award for the second consecutive year, as well as the award for Best Airport in the Middle East, which it has now won for ten years running.

“This year HIA celebrates its milestone tenth year of operations and we are truly honored that passengers have voted us Best Airport in the World for a third time,” said Eng. Badr Al Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer. “We are also delighted to bring home the top awards for Best Airport Shopping and the Best Airport in the Middle East for the second consecutive and tenth time respectively.”

Singapore Changi Airport, the 2023 Airport of the Year and a 12-time previous winner, placed second in the global ranking. It was also named the Best Airport in Asia and awarded for having the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service.

Other top-performing airports in the 2024 World Airport Awards included:

– Seoul Incheon Airport (3rd globally, World’s Most Family Friendly Airport)

– Tokyo Haneda Airport (4th globally, World’s Cleanest Airport, World’s Best Domestic Airport, World’s Best Airport PRM & Accessible Facilities) 

– Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (Best Airport in Europe, World’s Best Low-Cost Terminal)

– Istanbul Airport (World’s Best Airport Dining Experience, Best Airport in Southern Europe)

– Vancouver International Airport (Best Airport in North America)

– Bogota El Dorado Airport (Best Airport in South America, Best Airport Staff Service in South America)

The World Airport Awards are based on the World Airport Survey, which gathers feedback from over 100 nationalities of airport customers. The survey evaluates the customer experience across key performance indicators like check-in, arrivals, security, shopping, and more.
