Doha, Qatar – The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has officially announced the dates for the highly anticipated Qatar Cup 2024, set to feature the top four clubs from the ongoing 2023-2024 Expo Stars League (ESL) season.

The semifinal matches will take place on May 1, 2024, with the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium playing host. The first-placed team in the ESL standings will face off against the fourth-placed team, while the second-placed side will take on the third-placed contender.

The showdown is scheduled for May 4, 2024, at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, the home ground of the Al Duhail club. The match is set to kick off at 7 PM.

The QSL has confirmed that the announcement of the semifinal teams and additional details will be made after the conclusion of the league championship, as the final ESL standings will determine the four clubs competing in the Qatar Cup.

In the event of a tie at the end of regular time, the match will proceed directly to a penalty shootout, bypassing any extra time periods.

Currently, Al Sadd are leading the ESL table with 43 points, followed closely by Al Gharafa with 41 points. Al Rayyan sit third with 38 points, while Al Wakrah hold the fourth position with 37 points. Reigning Amir Cup champions Al Arabi are fifth with 26 points.

With three rounds remaining in the league, the ESL will resume tomorrow, as teams aim to secure their spots in the coveted Qatar Cup 2024.
