Muraikh Ramadan Tent Aims to Serve 15,000 Fasting People

The Muraikh Ramadan tent, a part of the “Endowment for Fasting People” project by the General Directorate of Endowments, is set to cater to over 15,000 fasting individuals during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative, supported by generous donors and philanthropists, aims to provide essential Iftar meals to fasting people across various locations in Qatar.

Located in the Muraikh area, this tent is one of twenty sites managed by the General Directorate of Endowments to distribute Iftar meals as part of the “Endowment for Fasting People” project. These efforts are made possible through contributions from honourable benefactors, especially during Ramadan, as a means of rewarding the late Sheikh Nasser bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Thani and Sheikh Falih bin Nasser Al Thani.

Muhammad bin Yaqoub Al Ali, Assistant Director-General of the General Directorate of Endowments, highlighted the Directorate’s goal of providing over 24,000 Iftar meals daily across twenty sites, including distribution locations in key areas like Ain Khaled, Al Sailiya, Industrial Zone, Umm Salal Muhammad, Al Wakra, Al Khor, and Muraikh. Additionally, designated sites for distributing Iftar meals ensure widespread coverage, including Umm Ghuwailina, Ibn Mahmoud, Musheireb, Ibn Imran, Al Aziziyah, and Al Rayyan.

Al Ali emphasized the importance of philanthropic contributions in supporting the Iftar tents project, urging donors to contribute financially or through endowments to the Endowment Fund for righteousness and piety. With a target of providing over 700,000 Iftar meals throughout Ramadan, the General Directorate of Endowments strives to uphold the spirit of giving and community support during this auspicious month.
